Muzaffarabad ,(Parliament Times): Former President and Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Member of the Legislative Assembly, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, has stated that the United States and Israel have pushed the region toward a new war by attacking Iran.
In a statement, he said Iran’s sovereignty had been violated and described the reported martyrdom of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as an unacceptable act. Condemning the Israeli and U.S. actions against Iran, he termed the attack a blatant violation of international law.
He said the martyrdom of the revolutionary leader Ayatollah Khamenei was not only a loss for Iran but for the entire Muslim world, which, he added, has been deprived of a brave and fearless leader. “Leaders like Ayatollah Khamenei are born once in centuries. His life was filled with struggle, and the world will always remember him,” he remarked.
Expressing solidarity with the Iranian people in this difficult time, Yaqoob Khan termed the attack on Iran a cowardly act, alleging that schools and civilian populations were also targeted. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and urged the international community to take immediate steps to halt the aggression.
He emphasized that the issue must be resolved through negotiations, warning that failure to do so could engulf the entire region in war. He further alleged that Israel had deliberately pushed the region into conflict, directly affecting ordinary civilians. “War is not the solution to any problem,” he said, appealing to all parties to return to the negotiating table.
He warned that wars not only cause human casualties but also devastate national economies, noting that stock exchanges around the world are already feeling the impact of the conflict.
Yaqoob Khan further alleged that an alliance between India, the United States, and Israel seeks to push the world toward destruction. He urged other countries to demonstrate seriousness and take concrete measures to ensure lasting global peace.
