Rawalpindi ,(Parliament Times): The killers of Chaudhry Rifaqat, who was recently murdered in Haveli Kharan, have yet to be arrested, leaving his family in deep grief and anger. In response to the delay in apprehending the culprits, a protest was held outside the Rawalpindi Press Club, drawing a large turnout of political and social figures from Haveli district.
The protest was attended by former assembly candidates Chaudhry Amir Nazir, Khawaja Bilal Mir, Danish Dar, Mujtaba Farooqi, Salah Muhammad Chaudhry, Engineer Asad, Qazi Farhanuddin Asad, Muhammad Qasim, Chaudhry Shahid, Abdul Quddus Advocate, Junaid Advocate, Khalid Aziz Mir, and former candidate Sameer Siddiqui, along with leaders and workers from various political parties.
Participants carried banners and placards demanding the immediate arrest of the murderers and justice for the deceased. Protesters raised slogans against the administration and police, criticizing the failure to apprehend the suspects even ten days after the incident, calling it a serious question on the performance of law enforcement agencies.
Addressing the crowd, Chaudhry Amir Nazir and other leaders stated that over ten days have passed since Chaudhry Rifaqat’s murder, yet the police have not reached any conclusion. They warned that if the culprits are not arrested within fifteen days, protests will be expanded across Haveli district, and strict measures will be taken.
Speakers affirmed their solidarity with the victim’s family and vowed to continue raising their voices until justice is served. Protesters also demanded that the government ensure a transparent and swift investigation and hold the responsible individuals accountable, to prevent such incidents in the future.
