Islamabad,(Parliament Times):The Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has praised the president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari for his landmark speech to the joint session of Parliament, terming it an milestone towards strengthening democracy. In his statement, the AJK premier said that the President’s address reflected national unity, constitutional supremacy, and the promotion of democratic values. ” Under the current situation there is a dire need of political stability, mutual consultation, and national consensus”, the pm said, adding that the President Zardari effectively highlighted these points in his speech. He said that political harmony and cooperation between the federation and all its units was a key to address public issues and achieve national development goals. Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore reaffirmed that the AJK Government would continue to play its role in ensuring democratic stability and safeguarding national interests.
He further stated that addressing a joint session of Parliament is a constitutional tradition and a symbol of democratic continuity. He described the opposition’s undemocratic behavior during the address as regrettable.
