Tehran,(Parliament Times):
Several senior Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, were killed in what Iranian authorities described as “unprovoked and unwarranted” airstrikes carried out by Israel and the United States.
As large crowds gathered in Tehran amid rising tensions, multiple explosions were reported in the capital. The Israeli military stated it was conducting fresh strikes on targets in central Tehran. Blasts were also reported in Jerusalem, Riyadh, Dubai, Doha and Manama, further heightening regional alarm.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian termed Khamenei’s killing a “declaration of war against Muslims,” warning that Iran considers it its legitimate right to respond to what he described as a historic crime.
State media confirmed the deaths of several high-ranking officials in the strikes, including:
-
Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran
-
Ali Shamkhani, Representative of the Supreme Leader in the Supreme Defence Council
-
Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces
-
Mohammad Pakpour, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps
-
Aziz Nasirzadeh, Minister of Defence
-
Gholamreza Rezaian, Police Intelligence Chief
In addition, Iranian media reported that Khamenei’s daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter were also killed in the airstrikes.
The developments mark a significant escalation in regional tensions, with Tehran vowing retaliation and warning of far-reaching consequences.
