Islamabad,(Parliament Times): Annual Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and spirit at Asas International School F-10 Branch, Islamabad. The event took place in a vibrant and pleasant atmosphere where students demonstrated outstanding discipline, teamwork, and true sportsmanship. The prestigious ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Muhammad Arshad Zia, Director of Asas International School F-10 Branch Islamabad, along with Mr. Sadaqat Ali Abbasi and Ms. Saadia Gul. The event was also attended by Ms. Safia Jawad (Branch Head), Ms. Sumaya Faisal (Headmistress, Junior Section: Playgroup to Pre OLevel), Ms. Hina Tashfeen (Headmistress, Senior Section: O & A Level), and Ms. Ibtisam Ubaid (Coordinator, Junior Section). The ceremony commenced with a splendid march-past by the students, followed by the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and the national anthem. An oath-taking ceremony was then held to promote the true spirit of sportsmanship and integrity. During the opening ceremony, balloons were released into the sky and the torch was lit, symbolizing unity and determination. Students from different classes presented beautiful performances, including a preschool welcome performance, cheerleading, a choir sports song, and an impressive martial arts demonstration led by Mr. Kamran. The boys’ performance was also highly appreciated by the audience. Various competitions were organized for both girls and boys, including football, tug of war, and dodge the ball.
At the conclusion of the competitions, medals were awarded to the winner and runner-up teams. In her speech, Ms. Safia Jawad appreciated the efforts of students and teachers and emphasized the importance of physical activities alongside academic excellence. Later, Director Dr. Muhammad Arshad Zia highlighted in his address that sports play a vital role in character building, boosting confidence, and developing leadership skills among students. Special races were also arranged for parents, teachers, and staff members, which added further excitement and created an inclusive atmosphere at the event. The Sports Day concluded with a strong message of unity, discipline, and healthy competition. The event reflected the school’s commitment to holistic development and excellence in both academic and cocurricular activities
