Pishin,(Daily Parliament Times)Pishin Bachao Tehreek, while addressing a press conference, thanked journalists for conveying public concerns to higher authorities and the general public.
The speakers stated that Pishin is the third most populous district of Balochistan, with a population of over 836,000, and stressed that new districts should be formed on the basis of fair population distribution. They strongly opposed the creation of districts with smaller populations, including proposals for districts with 152,000 or 143,000 people, and demanded restoration of the November 21, 2022 notification for District Barshore–Karizat with a population of 295,000.
The Tehreek urged the Balochistan High Court to decide the pending case at the earliest and warned that any attempt to divide Pishin into smaller units without consensus would be resisted at all levels.
Addressing the second issue, the speakers welcomed the approval of Pishin Division but expressed concern over reports of establishing its headquarters in Gulistan. They stated that due to law and order and accessibility issues, Gulistan or Qila Abdullah are not suitable locations. The Tehreek proposed Saranan or near Yaro as ideal locations, citing better security and central access.
They also revealed that the Battezai tribe has already donated around 200 acres of land for the division headquarters and other government buildings and is willing to provide more land if required.
