Islamabad/New York,(Daily Parliament Times):Former Federal Minister for Minority Affairs Akram Masih Gill has called for the allocation of a five percent employment quota for minorities in defence institutions, stating that such a step would help ensure their economic empowerment and equal participation in national development.

He expressed these views while speaking at a dinner hosted in honour of Former Federal Minister and Senator Kamran Michael at his residence in New York. Akram Gill further emphasized that five percent of national and provincial development funds should be earmarked for non-Muslim areas, enabling minority communities to benefit from basic civic amenities and development projects.

On the occasion, Former Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Senator Kamran Michael said that the government is taking significant measures to promote interfaith harmony across the country. He also urged Pakistanis living in the United States to project Pakistan’s positive image and constructive role at the international level.

Meanwhile, Pastor Tariq Rehmat, Pastor Robin Yameen, and William Michael offered special prayers for Pakistan’s development, prosperity, and stability.
