ISLAMABAD, (Parliament Times) : Commemorative events were organized in Lahore and Islamabad in memory of the parliamentarian **Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani (RA)**. These events were held on the occasion of the unveiling and appreciation of the special publication—**a News Album**—of the quarterly magazine *Anwar-e-Raza, Jauharabad*.
The ceremonies were organized in connection with the **23rd death anniversary of Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani (RA)**. Politicians, religious scholars, saints, research scholars, women, and female students showed keen interest. Female students from various universities also participated. Book stalls related to the personality and services of Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani were set up and remained open for the participants.
The tireless day-and-night efforts and continuous scholarly work of senior journalist **Maulana Malik Mehboob-ur-Rasool Qadri** from Jauharabad have taken the form of a movement.
In Lahore, the event was presided over by **Justice Mian Nazir Akhtar**, while in Islamabad it was chaired by **Colonel (R) Muhammad Sarfaraz Saifi**. In both programs, hospitality was arranged with proper care through literature distribution and dinner. These events were organized by **Islamic Media** and the **Allama Shah Ahmad Noorani Research Center Pakistan**.
While addressing the ceremony, Justice Mian Nazir Akhtar stated that one of the greatest achievements of Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani was uniting the Muslims of Pakistan on the platform of the **Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal** with wisdom and strategy. He further said that Malik Mehboob-ur-Rasool Qadri had rendered a great service by compiling half a century of Maulana Noorani’s struggle in the form of a news album based on national newspapers.
At the *Aiwan-e-Karkunan-e-Tehreek-e-Pakistan*, Mother of the Nation Hall, Mall Road Lahore, the chief guest **Pir Ijaz Hashmi**, former Central President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan and long-time host of Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani in Lahore, said that the most important need of the time is to promote book culture. His message was: *“Book, book, and more books.”*
Prominent journalists, religious scholars, political leaders, researchers, and social figures also addressed the gathering. Naat and manqabat were presented, while the proceedings were conducted by **Syed Ehsan Ahmed Gilani**. A large number of students from K.C. University Lahore and Punjab University participated under the leadership of **Malik Akash Awan**. Renowned researchers, educationists, and scholars from different regions attended as special guests.

At the **National Press Club Islamabad**, under the chairmanship of **Colonel (Dr.) Muhammad Sarfaraz Saifi**, the chief guest was former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir **Sardar Muhammad Atiq Khan**. In his address, he said that the basic objective of the creation of Pakistan was the practical implementation of **Nizam-e-Mustafa ?**, not merely as a slogan but as a complete way of life. He emphasized that the protection of the honor of the Prophet ? was a great mission, to prevent blasphemy and to defend the sanctity of Prophethood at all costs.
Several scholars, journalists, and religious leaders addressed the ceremony, stating that this event was organized on the death anniversary of **Qaid-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani Siddiqui (RA)**. The speakers highlighted his unmatched struggle for the movements of **Khatm-e-Nabuwwat** and **Nizam-e-Mustafa**, calling it a priceless asset of Islamic and Pakistani history. They said that Maulana Noorani was not only a powerful and courageous voice of Pakistan but of the entire Muslim world.
It was informed that on the occasion of December, several books and special editions highlighting the religious, political, social, and national services of Maulana Noorani have been published under the platform of *Anwar-e-Raza, Jauharabad*. Eighteen editions of this series have already been published. These publications serve as a historical record by preserving newspaper reports of that era for future generations.
The speakers stressed that although electronic media dominates today, it can never fully replace authentic references. With the decline of print media, there is a growing fear that if religious and Islamic literature is removed from digital platforms in the future, the Muslim Ummah may face a serious intellectual void. Therefore, strengthening the relationship with books is the most important need of the time, as the book is part of divine tradition and the true means of preserving knowledge.
The ceremony was not limited to the unveiling of books but also served as a gathering for **Isal-e-Sawab** for Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani (RA). The National Press Club Islamabad was selected because it is the capital of Pakistan and an intellectual and geographical center, from where the voice reaches the entire country.
In the end, prayers were offered for the acceptance of this scholarly and intellectual effort, for the elevation of the ranks of Qaid-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat, and for steadfastness in striving for the enforcement of **Nizam-e-Mustafa ?** and the protection of the honor of Prophethood ?. All participants were presented with books and hospitality was arranged.
Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani remains an extremely important and distinguished figure in Pakistan’s political history, without whom the story of national politics is incomplete. The successful organization of these exemplary programs in Lahore and Islamabad is a credit to the **Allama Shah Ahmad Noorani Research Center Pakistan**. Its Chairman **Malik Mehboob-ur-Rasool Qadri** and his team deserve congratulations and appreciation. May Allah grant them the best reward.
