Türkiye reaffirms solidarity with Pakistan, condemns Islamabad Terror Attack: Ali ?ahin

Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : Member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and Chairman of the Türkiye–Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mr. Ali ?ahin, addressing the conference on “Peace, Security and Development,” strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Islamabad and expressed unwavering solidarity with Pakistan.

He said: At the outset of my remarks, I strongly condemn yesterday’s heinous terrorist attack in Islamabad. We pray for divine mercy for those who lost their lives and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. Pakistan is never alone—and will never be alone—in its war on terror. Türkiye will always stand by Pakistan.

Mr. ?ahin expressed gratitude to the leadership and people of Pakistan, noting that the world today faces shared challenges such as global power rivalries, ongoing conflicts, climate change, and social inequality—issues no nation can tackle alone.

He emphasized that inter-parliamentary cooperation is a vital channel of diplomacy that connects nations through mutual understanding and trust, enabling direct communication between peoples and their representatives.

Mr. ?ahin reaffirmed that terrorism remains one of the gravest threats to global peace and development and must be countered collectively, without distinguishing between terrorist organizations. He also called for dialogue-based solutions to ensure peace and stability in South Asia, stressing that regional countries should develop an effective mechanism for cooperation against terrorism.

He further urged the international community to act responsibly: Israel’s aggression in Syria must end immediately; the fragile ceasefire in Gaza should be maintained with uninterrupted humanitarian aid; diplomatic talks on Iran’s nuclear issue should resume; and a fair and lasting peace in Ukraine should be restored through the Istanbul process and adherence to international law. He also underlined that the ongoing isolation of Turkish Cypriots is a violation of human rights and should be lifted.

Mr. ?ahin announced that Türkiye will host the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Istanbul from April 15–19, 2026, adding that Türkiye’s “Zero Waste” initiative has now become a global environmental movement.
