    Altaf Hamid  Rao.

Muzaffarabad/ MIRPUR  ( AJK) (Parliament Times) : President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of Jammu who on this day in
1946 were brutally massacred by Hindu extremists aided and abetted by
    the Maharaja’s administration.

In his message issued on the eve of the Martyrs’ Day, the President
said that November 6 marks a black day in Kashmir’s history when
nearly a quarter million Muslims were killed in cold blood around
    Jammu.

” Jammu Martyrs’ Day is a renewal of the pledge that the people of
Kashmir will not hesitate to make any sacrifice until the goal for
which the Muslims of Jammu laid down their lives is achieved”,
President Chaudhry said, adding that the massacre was not merely a
coincidence but a planned conspiracy aimed at altering the region’s
demography and undermining the objectives of Pakistan’s creation.

Recalling the horrors of the tragedy, he described it as the darkest
    chapter in Kashmir’s contemporary history.

“Even today, Kashmiri Muslims are being killed with impunity by the
Indian occupation forces in the occupied territory of Jammu and
    Kashmir,” he said.

Lauding the relentless struggle and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people
against the India’s illegal occupation, he noted that the blood of the
martyrs continues to give new life to the Kashmiris’ freedom movement,
which remains alive because of their sacrifices.

The President, while reaffirming the AJK government’s all out support
Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for right to self determination, said
that the freedom movement remains the top priority of the present
    government.

“The ongoing struggle will continue until realization of long
cherished dream envisioned by our ancestors is achieved”, Barrister
    Chaudhry remarked.

He made it clear that the Indian brutalities cannot dampen the
    Kashmiris’ spirit of freedom.
