Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : Secretary Information of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Azad Kashmir, Sardar Javed Ayub, stated that the decision to bring a change in the Azad Kashmir government has been made in view of the prevailing circumstances, which will have far-reaching effects.

He expressed gratitude to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Ms. Faryal Talpur for taking notice of the deteriorating situation in Azad Kashmir and valuing the recommendations of the PPP parliamentary party to steer the region in the right direction.

Sardar Javed Ayub also thanked the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for its cooperation, adding that change in Azad Kashmir is now inevitable. He dismissed the rumors about early elections as propaganda by disgruntled individuals, clarifying that both PPP and PML-N agree to hold transparent elections on schedule, with the next government completing its term until July 2026.

He further stated that there is no self-nominated candidate for the office of Prime Minister; the party leadership, after consulting all stakeholders, will nominate a candidate in the best interest of the state, and all members of the assembly will support that decision.

Sardar Ayub emphasized that the current situation in Azad Kashmir allows no room for personal preferences or divisions, as the focus must remain on resolving public issues. Under the visionary leadership of Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Faryal Talpur, the PPP will continue its democratic struggle for the rights of the people of Azad Kashmir.

He added that the consultation process is nearing completion, and the PPP is preparing to share power with the people of Azad Kashmir. “In our party, there are no divisions of tribe, caste, or region — only a united ideological movement that follows the philosophy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto,” he remarked.

He said there is no disagreement within the party over the premiership; it is the right of every MLA to aspire for the post, but once the party nominates a candidate, everyone will stand firmly behind that choice. “The time of speculation and waiting is coming to an end — the people will soon hear good news,” he concluded.
