From Sardar Muhammad Tahir Tabassum
RAWALAKOT, (Parliament Times) : In the politics of Jammu and Kashmir, the sincere spirit of serving humanity and public relations are now disappearing. The luster of wealth and greed have destroyed such qualities. The person who has these qualities takes him to the top of the world and that personality always reigns in the hearts of the people. People love him immensely and trust him blindly. In Poonch, my friends Gohar Nayab have passed away whom we miss dearly, whose existence has truly been the pinnacle of public service and who have been performing political and social service without greed or ambition with the intention of worship. Among them are my benevolent friends Sardar Mukhtar Khan Advocate, Sardar Yousuf Shamim, Sardar Sayab Khalid, Sardar Azeem Zia Advocate, Sardar Sabir Hussain Sabir and Dr. Sardar Haleem Khan. They were such distinguished, loyal, courageous, principled and compassionate public, academic, social and political leaders that every stranger was ready to give his life for them. Allah the Almighty had given them such a large heart and strong will that they lived in the heart of everyone they met, but Allah the Almighty loves such people and quickly draws them to Himself.
The fifth death anniversary of Dr. Sardar Haleem Khan is being observed on November 1, but I believe that he will always rule the hearts of people because he has left such indelible impressions in his habits, temperament, services and qualities that no one can ever forget or ignore his selfless, sincere and compassionate greatness and power. By profession, he was a distinguished and well-known and old practicing physician, but in public service, sincerity and love and wise insight, he was his own example. Only a miser can forget such a priceless diamond. I was associated with Dr. Sardar Haleem for a decade. Allah did not give him much time, but the scholars of Rawalakot know very well what kind of relationship, bond and sincerity I had with him. We used to talk every day, and there was a feeling of thirst. I went to Rawalakot dozens of times on his wish and invitation because I always had a desire to meet this man of knowledge and thought. He was not only a public leader but also a master of the styles and sciences of religion and the world. He was a true lover of the Prophet and a scholar of religion who had access to religious sciences. He was a brilliant orator and a widely read thinker and philosopher. In his speeches, he would quote the Quran and Hadith as if he had memorized the sciences of the Quran and Hadith. It can be seen that he was a physician who loved his profession immensely. People trusted and loved him immensely. If he had been greedy for earning wealth, he could have been counted among the richest people, but more than money, the spirit of serving the people was working in him sincerely and he got immense relief by treating the poor for free. Dr. Haleem Khan held many important political positions and was also an advisor to the Prime Minister, but he never acted artificially or arrogantly. The same ascetic and simple life and the spirit of being useful to everyone were always with him. Dr. Haleem Khan is famous for the Pearl Welfare Association, through whose platform he served the suffering humanity selflessly and selflessly, and also helped people to understand and solve their problems. This social organization is still playing an active role and his brother, retired teacher Sardar Naeem Khan, is its president. Government Girls Degree College, Rawalakot, was approved through his efforts and the girls of the area were provided with education. This college has been named after Dr. Haleem Khan. Dr. Haleem was a member of the Board of Governors of my NGO Institute of Peace and Development, INSPAD. Some time ago, his brother Sardar Khalid Mahmood Khan, retired DEO, was given this responsibility in his place. With his patronage and support, we organized three major conferences in Rawalakot. The freedom of Kashmir and the completion of Pakistan were part of his faith. Undoubtedly, Dr. Haleem Khan was a visionary of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, a selfless politician, a true spokesperson for the people and a falconer of Allama Iqbal. The struggle, services, character and actions of a bright star and a compassionate politician like Dr. Sardar Muhammad Haleem Khan will be remembered for centuries. One of his brothers, Sardar Khalil Khan, is a retired government officer and the other, Sardar Asghar Mahmood Khan, is residing in Spain. Two of his brothers, Sardar Khalid Mahmood Khan and Sardar Naeem Khan, have also been mentioned.
