Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia :The Joint International Conference on Medical Education (ICME–IMEC 2025) concluded successfully at the International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia, marking yet another milestone in global collaboration for the advancement of medical and health professions education.
Co-organized by Riphah International University, Pakistan, and IMU Malaysia, the prestigious international event brought together a vibrant community of educators, researchers, policymakers, and students from around the world. With the theme “Globalization of Health Professions Education: Strategies, Stakeholders and Sustainability,” the conference emphasized collective efforts to create innovative, equitable, and future-ready systems of learning in healthcare.
The event drew over 400 participants, including 300 onsite and 100 online attendees from 30 countries, reflecting the conference’s strong global footprint. Over the course of multiple days, participants engaged in pre-conference workshops, keynote sessions by international experts, short courses, and scientific paper presentations, alongside rich opportunities for networking and cross-border collaboration.
ICME–IMEC 2025 served as a powerful reminder of how academia can transcend borders to address the evolving needs of healthcare education worldwide. For Riphah International University, the conference also reaffirmed its legacy as a pioneer in health professions education reform, championing ethical, patient-centered, and sustainable medical education through research, innovation, and international partnerships.
