Turbat, (Parliament Times) : A prestigious ceremony was held at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat to honour the students of Turbat University who delivered outstanding performances during the Kech Cultural Festival. The event was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of Turbat University, Professor Dr. Gul Hassan.
The ceremony was attended by University Registrar Ganguzar Baloch, Chairman of the Management Sciences Department Dr. Ghulam Jan, Chairperson of the Education Department Dr. Mehnaz Aslam, Director Public Relations Ejaz Ahmed, Director Student Affairs Chakar Haider, Economics faculty member Samina Faqir, focal person of the Musical and Dramatic Society Dr. Muhammad Saleem, and the students who secured top positions in the festival.
It is noteworthy that in the entrepreneurial competition held during the festival, Turbat University’s team “Work in Project” secured the first position. This team comprised Talha Tahir, Irfan Khattar, Ahmed, Sangeen Anwar from the Management Sciences Department, and Khair Bakhsh from the Computer Science Department.
The second position was secured by the team “Food Surplus App”, consisting of Computer Science students Shameem KB, Sameer Ahmed, Jayand Sharif, and Owais Qadir.
In the musical competition, Shah Meer from the Education Department won first position.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Dr. Gul Hassan congratulated the students for winning top positions and participating actively in various activities. He stated that the university administration is committed to nurturing students’ creative abilities and character building through enhanced youth engagement initiatives.
He encouraged students to take part in constructive and positive activities to further develop their academic, creative, social, and leadership skills, ultimately contributing to the development of the province, national unity, and social stability.
On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor also directed the Directorate of Student Affairs to guide and encourage students to benefit from national and provincial youth empowerment initiatives, including NAVTTC projects, the Young Peace and Development Corps, and the Youth Digital Hub.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Registrar’s Office, Directorate of Student Affairs, focal persons of student clubs and societies, and faculty mentors such as Dr. Ghulam Jan, Dr. Muhammad Saleem, Samina Faqir, and others whose guidance led to the students’ success.
It is worth mentioning that during the Kech Cultural Festival, Dr. Ghulam Jan had urged public representatives, district administration, and organizers to support the implementation of students’ business ideas to encourage their entrepreneurial ambitions.
