    PM AJK lauds Global Support on 2005 Earthquake anniversary

    Islamabad,  (Parliament times) : Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, has lauded the international community for its exemplary role in relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts during the catastrophic 2005 earthquake that devastated the region.“

    The humanitarian sympathy shown by the world won the hearts of the Pakistani nation and the Kashmiri people,” he said.

    The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of moving forward with renewed hope and raising public awareness to better respond to natural disasters and minimize losses.

    He also praised the Pakistani nation for its unwavering support to the earthquake victims. “Following the disaster, both the government of Pakistan and the people came forward in a significant way to help survivors emerge from the dark shadows of despair”, he maintained.In his message on the anniversary of the martyrs of the earthquake, he noted that ruined cities and towns have been rebuilt successfully, roads that were once in ruins have been replaced by highways, and educational institutions have been reconstructed.

    He further said that hospitals and numerous health sector facilities have been completed with the cooperation of foreign countries. “Many ongoing projects are being carried out according to international standards, providing modern medical services and internationally standard highways for improved communication and transportation”, the PM said.

    The Prime Minister added that steps would be taken to ensure that all basic amenities of life are available to the people.
