I am writing to express my concern over a serious and critical issue . The lack of prioritizing safety in our daily lives. In today’s world, it is necessary to value safety above all else. Unfortunately, mobile phone use has become a major distraction, leading to dangerous situations and even life-threatening accidents. Instead of being alert and responsible, many people are risking their lives just to take selfies or upload videos for views, likes, and followers. Recent floods have already caused destruction, claiming over 972 lives and displacing millions. Around 44.7% of Pakistan’s population lives below the poverty line, and unemployment stands at 6.3%. Our youth are suffering from terrorism, poverty, and crime, yet instead of supporting them or helping in times of crisis, we are busy filming them for social media. Every day, road accidents occur . most often due to people using mobile phones while driving or walking near roads. Lives are lost, and still, many prefer capturing the tragedy instead of helping the victims. A single video might go viral, but saving a life brings real happiness to families.
