    Bureau report
ATTOCK.The long-standing and serious issue of water supply in the areas of Cantt Board Attock had caused severe distress and difficulties for the public. Despite repeatedly filing complaints at the Cantt Board Attock office, the administration did not take action, making excuses about frequent theft incidents and shortage of staff in the water supply department.
Previously, the water supply staff of Cantt Board Attock used to provide water for only 20–25 minutes daily, but with the rise in complaints, they increased the supply to one full hour every morning, which brought some relief to the public.
Finally, considering the severe hardships faced by the residents, the elected public representative of Cantt Board Attock, Member Syed Mehdi Naqvi, took personal interest in solving the problem. With formal approval from former Commandant Artillery Center Attock & Chairman Cantt Board Attock Brigadier (R) Adnan Rasheed, and with the special permission of CEO Cantt Board Attock Ms. Samreen Agha, bore wells were installed at five locations in the area with the cooperation of local philanthropists, thus resolving the long-standing water supply issue.
The philanthropists who contributed included Muhammad Raza Naqvi, Syed Danish Raza, Syed Qalb Abbas (popularly known as Qalbi), Syed Farhan Haider, and Member Cantt Board Attock Syed Mehdi Naqvi. Bore wells were installed at the following locations:
Front gate and back entrance of Imambargah Hussainia, Kamalpur SyedanNear the house of late Syed Sarfaraz Hussain ShahBeside Ahl-e-Sunnat Mosque Near the house of Syed Wajahat Hussain Naqvi
Each bore well cost Rs. 180,000, while the total cost for all five amounted to Rs. 900,000.
At the inauguration of the bore well at the back entrance of Imambargah Kamalpur Syedan, several notable figures including Syed Mehdi Shah, Syed Nazaqat Hussain Shah, Syed Arif Hussain, Syed Karamat Hussain Shah, Syed Shahid Hussain Shah, Syed Mujtaba, and Qamar Abbas Jafri participated. The event concluded with a special prayer led by Syed Nazaqat Hussain Shah for the forgiveness of all deceased souls.
