Chinari Cricket Tournament concludes with message of hope, health, and youth empowerment
Hatian Bala, (Parliament Times) : Central Senior Vice President of Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Kashmir, Sahibzada Muhammad Ashfaq Zafar Advocate, has said that youth are our most valuable asset and architects of the future. If they channel their energy towards positive activities instead of engaging in negative ones, the society can progress towards development and prosperity, and no force will be able to stop Azad Kashmir’s bright future.
He expressed these views while addressing the closing ceremony of a cricket tournament named after the renowned political and social leader, the late Raja Aziz Khan, held at the Degree College Ground in Chinari. The final match was played between Sawan Tigers and Ground Eleven, in which Ground Eleven clinched the victory after a tough contest, securing the trophy. Players from both teams exhibited excellent sportsmanship, and cricket fans enjoyed the match with great enthusiasm.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Pakistan Peoples Party Azad Kashmir leader Sahibzada Muhammad Ashfaq Zafar. Senior PML-N (Sher Sarwala) leader Haji Syed Ali Asghar Shah, Raja Qasid, and Raja Waheed Gul Officer were also present. Among the attendees were Union Council Chinari member Chaudhry Zubair, Raja Basharat, Tariq Munir Mughal, Raja Nisar Khan, Raja Jamil Siddiq Advocate, Raja Muhammad Khan, Raja Azeem, and a large number of local dignitaries.
Ashfaq Zafar congratulated Mazhar Aziz and all the organizers for hosting a successful cricket tournament in memory of the late Raja Aziz Khan. He said Raja Aziz Khan was a distinguished political, social, and philanthropic figure who devoted his life to public service. His sincere services to the people will always be remembered.
He emphasized that the public is everything and the true source of power. Sports keep youth away from negative activities and have a highly positive effect on their mental and physical health. He stressed that instead of filling hospitals, we should fill sports grounds so that future generations can enjoy better health. The only way to avoid overcrowded hospitals is to keep our playgrounds active. A healthy society is not possible without healthy youth.
Sports cultivate qualities such as tolerance, hard work, teamwork, and sacrifice, which are essential for success in all walks of life. He urged young people to give equal importance to both education and sports so they can become successful citizens with bright futures.
He congratulated the tournament organizers and players, saying such positive initiatives play a key role in promoting sports and showcasing youth talent in society.
Speaking at the event, special guest Syed Ali Asghar Shah also paid tribute to the services of the late Raja Muhammad Aziz Khan, stating that he will always remain in our hearts.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the special guests distributed trophies and prizes among the players, and a special prayer was offered for the elevation of the late Raja Aziz Khan’s soul.
