Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) ): Zahir Latif Sulariha,
a central leader of the Pakistan People’s Party Azad Kashmir, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the destruction caused by recent heavy rains in Azad Kashmir, particularly the loss of several houses and 6 precious human lives due to landslides in the Union Council Sarli Sachi Jhagian of Kotla constituency.
Talking to media representatives, Zahir Latif Sulariha said, “This is a national tragedy that has saddened the entire region. We share the grief of the families who lost their loved ones. I pray for the forgiveness of the deceased and for the speedy recovery of the injured.” He said that the Azad Kashmir government and district administration should expedite rescue and relief operations immediately, transfer affected families to safe places, and provide them with immediate financial aid, tents, food, medicines, and other basic facilities.
He said, “This is a time to rise above politics and serve the people. The People’s Party has always stood with the people in times of trial, and even now, every possible cooperation will be continued.” He also demanded from the federal government to announce special funds and a relief package for the affected areas so that the damaged infrastructure can be restored.
