Rawalakot, (Parliament Times) : India’s Independence Day was observed as a black day in Rawalakot,
the divisional headquarters of Poonch. In this regard, a rally was
organized from the District Complex Rawalakot, which was led by Sardar
Zafar Iqbal, President of the Officers Association. District officers,
lawyers and councilors, divisional and district heads of all
departments participated in the rally. The rally went around the
entire complex and took the form of a consensus at the Deputy
Commissioner’s Office. Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary General
of the Journal Officers Association, Dr. Tahir Sadar, Grand
Association, condemned Indian atrocities and barbarity and strongly
condemned the Indian government for its inhuman treatment of
minorities belonging to other religions in India and strongly
condemned the long-standing non-granting of the right of
self-determination to the Muslims of occupied Kashmir in accordance
with the resolutions of the United Nations. This public gathering was
addressed by Officer Maal Rawalakot Zahid Chohan, DFO Khalid Mahmood
Khan and other speakers. Finally, special prayers were offered for
the early liberation and stability of occupied Kashmir in Pakistan.
