MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) : In Azad Jammu Kashmir the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan and the victory of ‘Maarka e Haq ‘ (Battle for Rightousness) was celebrated on Thursday with traditional zeal and fervor coupled with special emphasis to highlight the struggle of our forefathers and national heroes for acquiring a separate homeland for Muslims of the Subcontinent under the dynamic sole leadership of Quaid-e-Azam and ensuring of the defence of the motherland invincible by valiant armed forces of the country defeating India in 5-day historic war in May this year.
The day dawned with special prayersin the mosques at Fajar prayers for safety, security, solidarity, integrity and prosperity of the country and early liberation of occupied Jammu & Kashmir from Indian clutches.
National Flag hoisting ceremonies were held in all the divisional, District and thesail headquarters of the state to pay tributes to the Father of the Nation for his untiring efforts for carving out a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub continent.
The main flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the AJK Presidency at Jammu Kashmir house in the federal metropolis, where AJK President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry unfurled the national flag marking the Pakistan independence day celebrations in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
The National and AJK state anthems were played while a smartly turned out police contingent presented salute.
Addressing the flag hoisting ceremony the Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry urged the United Nations and world powers to prevail upon India to stop its aggressive designs and play their role for establishing durable and lasting peace in the region.
He said India has been violating the United Nations resolutions and had failed to implement the world body agreed resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.
AJK President said “India has intensified the reign of terror in occupied Jammu Kashmir to crush the freedom movement but the Kashmiri people are determined to continue their struggle till the achievement of their right to self determination under the spirit of international norms and commitments.
The AJK President said on this occasion that the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu Kashmir have rejected the Indian government’s forced illegal action of 5th of August 2019 scrapping special status of the occupied state while India has intensified its reign of state terrorism and violence in occupied Kashmir to crush Kashmiris struggle for freedom of the motherland from Indian clutches.
The AJK President commended the landslide victory of Maarka e Haq resorting to convincing defeat to Indian unprovoked aggression by the valiant armed forces of Pakistan in 5-day war in May this year.
The President assured that the government of Azad Jammu Kashmir will continue to play its leading role in the base camp of the Kashmir liberation struggle till it reach to its logical end.
Barrister Sultan underlined that Pakistan had given tremendous sacrifices and over 80 thousands civil and armed forces officials have offered the supreme sacrifices of their lives in the war against terror suffering the loss of billions of dollars.
Another major ceremony was held in the state captal town of Muzaffrabad where AJK Prime Minister Ch. Anwar ul Haq hoisted national flag of Pakistan.
Addressing the ceremony the Prime Minister while paying rich tributes to founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, reaffirmed to follow the ideology of the Father of the Nation and Allama Iqbal to turn the state into an Islamic welfare state. He said a strong and stable Pakistan is the guarantee to freedom of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The Prime Minister reiterated that liberation of occupied Jammu & Kashmir will remain top priority of his government by following the improvement of infrastructure provision of education health and facilities to the people of Azad Jammu Kashmir and added that accountability without any discrimination and good governance are atop the priorities of the government.
The ceremony was attended by the AJK government ministers, elected representative including members of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and high ranking government officials.
National songs were also presented by the student during the colourful ceremony.
Another national flag hoisting ceremony was held at Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court building in Muzaffarabad Thursday morning where the Acting Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Justice Khawaja Muhammad Naseem hoisted the national flag of Pakistan besides AJK flag to mark the Independence Day celebrations.
The ceremony was attended among others by officials of AJK superior and subordinate judiciary, state Government, divisional and district administration, members of AJK Bar Council, members of Central Bar Association and lawyers from different parts of Muzaffarabad division.
Special prayers were offered on this occasion for the prosperity, integrity and solidarity of Pakistan and early liberation of occupied Jammu Kashmir from Indian illegal occupation.
