Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Aziz was the heartbeat of the Kashmiri people, a symbol of resistance, and a shining beacon of freedom. These views were expressed by Syed Salahuddin Ahmad, the Head of Hizbul Mujahideen and Chairman of United Jihad Council UJC, while addressing a special session of the United Jihad Council.
He said that Sheikh Abdul Aziz fearlessly confronted Indian tyranny and oppression, offering the ultimate sacrifice of his life and exposing India’s fake democracy before the world. He spent most of his life in Indian jails and torture cells, but neither the hardships of imprisonment, brutal torture, nor acts of barbarism could shake his resolve or courage.
Syed Salahuddin Ahmad further said that the martyr was not only a wise political leader but also a bold military commander who proved on every front that he was ready to sacrifice his life, wealth, and everything for the glory of Islam and the freedom of Kashmir.
Recalling the events of 11 August 2008, he said that when Hindu extremist forces in Jammu imposed an economic blockade on the Kashmir Valley, Sheikh Abdul Aziz led the “Muzaffarabad Chalo March” under the slogan of “Break the Bloody Line,” which was joined by thousands of kashmiri people. On August 11, 2008, when the caravan reached the area of Zhul Uri Baramullah, Indian occupation forces opened direct fire on the procession, in which Sheikh Abdul Aziz and several of his companions were martyred.
The Chairman of the United Jihad Council said that the family of the martyr – the “Family of Resolve” – belongs to those noble households who have written golden chapters in history through their sacrifices, loyalty, and unparalleled devotion. He reaffirmed the commitment that the sacred mission of Sheikh Abdul Aziz and other martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir would be continued at all costs.
At the end of the session, prayers were offered for the elevation of ranks of Shaheed-e-Azeemat (Martyr of Resolve) and all martyrs of Kashmir, with a renewed pledge that the struggle will continue until the goal is achieved.
