MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) : Mirpur-AJK District Bar Association launched monsoon tree plantation drive at the district courts compound here on Friday with the coordination of a local NGO.
Our Special Jammu Kashmir state Correspondent Altaf Hamid Rao reports from Mirpur that the DBA launched the tree plantation campaign with the coordination of the Evergreen Mirpur NGO planting sapplongs of various precious trees in front of the District Bar Association offices complex in Mirpur District Courts compound.
It was aimed at to raise awareness among the masses including the legal fraternity anout the importance and usefulness of tree plantation and plantation besides to attract the public towards tree plantation and plantation.
Chief guest District & Session Judge Chaudhry Fitaz Ahmed, newly inducted Mirpur SSP Khurram Iqbal, President District Bar Association Mirpur Chaudhry Mahmood Hussain Plakvi, senior journalist Zafar Mughal, Chairman Evergreen Raja Iftikhar Ahmed Mirpur participated and series of the DBA member advocates participated in the tree plantation campaign by planting saplings of different natures.
In a briefing chat on this occasion, the DIstrict & Session Judge Ch. Fiyaz Ahmed, President Bar Advocate Chaudhry Mahmood Plakvi and SSP Khurram Iqbal, and others emphasized the importance of national tree plantation to prevent the negative repercussions of recent climate change the world over in general and in the region in particular.
They suggested gearing up the tree plantation drive to turn Mirpur into green city through maximum partipation of all segments of the civil society including legal fraternity.
“Only by doing so we could be successful in meeting the challenges of the future by minimizing global warming and environmental pollution and making the public safe”, speakers observed.
“Everyone should enthusiastically join the campaign to make the city of lush green besides to ensure the safety of plants besides promoting tree plantation all the time”, they concluded
