Islamgarh, Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, (Parliament Times) :
A wave of panic has gripped the local population after a woman’s dead body was discovered in a deserted area near Rarra Barjan Road, in the outskirts of Islamgarh, district Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. Initial investigations suggest the woman was raped before being brutally murdered. Police have arrested two suspects and launched a formal investigation.
According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Rasheeda Bibi, wife of Muhammad Iqbal, a resident of Chak No. 125, Chak Jhumra, Faisalabad. Her identity was confirmed through her national identity card found in her purse.
Upon receiving the report, police from the Islamgarh Police Station reached the scene and took custody of the body. It was then shifted to DHQ Hospital Mirpur, where a post-mortem examination confirmed that the woman had been sexually assaulted.
Further investigation revealed that Rasheeda Bibi had reportedly been invited to Islamgarh from Faisalabad. After arriving, she was allegedly subjected to sexual violence, murdered in cold blood, and her body dumped in a remote location.
In a swift response, police arrested two young men from a nearby village who are now under interrogation. Additional evidence is expected to emerge following the full post-mortem report and a detailed inquiry.
Police officials confirmed that a case has been registered and legal proceedings have begun. Authorities have assured that justice will be served at all costs.
