    PCL (Jeddah Leg) kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

    Saudi Arabia (Adrees Ahmed Ganja):The Pakistan Cricket League (Jeddah Leg) kicked off with a vibrant opening ceremony in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The tournament was officially inaugurated by Consul General Khalid Majeed, who bowled the first ball, followed by legendary former cricketer Javed Miandad, who played the opening shot.
    The event was graced by special guest Javed Miandad along with Consul General Khalid Majeed, Press Consul Irfan Chaudhry, renowned businesswoman and media personality Dr. Samira Aziz, social leader Sardar Nasr Iqbal, Choudhry Muhammad Amjad Gujar, Choudhry Shafqat, Anees Ahmad, Haji Usman, Shiraz, Imran Siddiqui, and other distinguished guests.
    In his speech, Consul General Khalid Majeed emphasized the importance of such activities in guiding youth towards positive engagement and reiterated the consulate’s commitment to promoting cricket and sports in the community.
    Javed Miandad welcomed the initiative and suggested that future leagues should include players from Pakistan to raise the competitive standard and provide local players with valuable experience.
    Social leader Sardar Nasr Iqbal offered to build a free cricket ground at the new consulate building to provide better facilities for the youth. Meanwhile, Dr. Samira Aziz praised the inclusion of a women’s exhibition match in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, congratulating the organizers for promoting women’s cricket.
    In the opening exhibition match, the Pakistan Consulate team defeated the Pakistan Journalist Eleven. The journalist team’s captain, Jahangir Khan, congratulated the consulate team on their excellent performance and expressed eagerness to play a challenge match soon.
    Organizers Yahya Ashfaq and Ahsan Naseer thanked Consul General Khalid Majeed, Press Consul Irfan Chaudhry, Haji Usman Abdul Hameed, and all sponsors for their invaluable support, expressing hope that such tournaments will continue in the future to offer cricket fans in Saudi Arabia high-quality cricket
