Lahore, (PR) : An important meeting was held under the chair of Provincial Minister for Communication and Works, Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth. Executive Engineers ,XENs from across Punjab participated online, while Additional Secretary (Admin), Additional Secretary (Roads), and other senior officials attended in person. The meeting reviewed in detail the progress of various road sector projects initiated by the Chief Minister Punjab. Progress briefings were presented on key projects including Quaid-e-Azam Interchange to Wahga Highway, Faisalabad-Chiniot Road, Multan-Vehari Highway, Chan Da Qila, and others. Updates were also shared on ongoing road rehabilitation projects under the Khushhal Punjab initiative across nine divisions.
The Provincial Minister directed that all highways must be immediately surveyed during the monsoon season. Potholes and damaged shoulders should be repaired on an urgent basis. He instructed that C&W field staff in all districts ensure proper drainage and remain visibly active on-site. The Minister further instructed that all Executive Engineers should personally inspect the condition of roads.
He emphasized that all highways, public buildings, and hospitals must be promptly inspected. Special attention should be given to potholes caused by continuous rainfall. Officers from the Buildings sector were directed to inspect hospitals across the province and identify key points within their respective districts for immediate repair.
Provincial Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth instructed that all necessary repairs be carried out without delay and that daily reports be submitted throughout the monsoon season.
