Salma Butt ,Special Assistant for Price Control and Commodities Management, chairs a high-level meeting

Lahore, (PR) : A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Special Assistant for Price Control and Commodities Management, Salma Butt. Secretary Price Control, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, gave a detailed briefing on departmental affairs. The meeting reviewed the current status and upgradation of wheat warehouses across the province. DG Food, Naveed Shehzad, briefed the participants on the measures taken to ensure the protection of wheat stocks ahead of the monsoon season.Special Assistant Salma Butt directed the DG Food to submit details of vacant warehouses and their storage capacities in every district. She emphasized that, in view of the flood situation, close monitoring of the supply chain of essential commodities in the market must be ensured. Continuous monitoring of the demand and supply of food items at the tehsil level should also be ensured.Secretary Price Control, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, informed that, based on the recommendations of the Commodities Management Department, official communications are being sent to the respective commissioners and deputy commissioners. The Special Monitoring Unit and the E&M Wing are monitoring the prices of vegetables, fruits, and pulses at both local and international levels. The DG Food/Cane Commissioner Punjab and Additional Secretary Commodities Management were also present.
