Czech Republic : Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman , who visited the Czech Republic again after less than three years .
“Croatia is a traditional partner for us, the volume of trade exchange has exceeded one billion euros for several years in a row. Our closeness is also strengthened by the annual trips of hundreds of thousands of Czech citizens to Croatia,” said Minister Lipavský at the beginning. In this context, the ministers mentioned the joint police patrols that operate in Croatia during the tourist season, as well as the large Czech expatriate community in Daruvar.
The main topics of the ministers’ discussions included mutual relations, strengthening trade and investment ties, Russian aggression in Ukraine, developments in Europe with an emphasis on the Western Balkans region, the enlargement of the European Union, security issues, and transatlantic relations.
“I greatly appreciate the assistance that Croatia provides to the attacked Ukraine. I appreciate how Croatia, using its own experience, is helping Ukraine in the field of mine clearance,” added the head of Czech diplomacy.
In the second part of the visit, the ministers focused on energy security and the development of cultural diplomacy.
