Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : From the winding roads of Mansehra to the bustling marathon tracks of Islamabad, Hamza Arshad Khan is fast becoming a name associated with grit, endurance, and passion. A native of Pakistan with a background in English Literature and Law, Hamza has recently been making headlines not for his academic achievements — but for his athletic ones.
Hamza’s journey into endurance sports is a story of quiet determination. Having been a casual runner since childhood, he turned his focus seriously toward long-distance running in 2017. What began as an occasional jog soon transformed into a disciplined routine, culminating in three full marathon finishes in the federal capital — Islamabad.
His first marathon in 2023 clocked in at 4 hours and 37 minutes. A year later, he pushed his limits to finish in an impressive 3 hours and 45 minutes. His third attempt in 2025, though slower at 4 hours and 25 minutes due to a challenging hilly course, stands as a testament to his perseverance and mental strength.
But Hamza’s athletic passion isn’t limited to running. In a thrilling adventure this year, he completed a long-distance cycling expedition from Mansehra to Senera, navigating the scenic but demanding routes of northern Pakistan. This solo journey, both physically demanding and spiritually enriching, reflected his love for the open road and the discipline of self-propelled travel.
Speaking to The Daily Tribune, Hamza said, “Running and cycling have taught me patience, resilience, and the joy of pushing past your limits. Every race and ride is a conversation with yourself.”
As the trend of amateur endurance sports gains momentum in Pakistan, athletes like Hamza Arshad Khan are inspiring a new generation to take to the streets — not in protest, but in pursuit of health, purpose, and personal excellence.
Whether on foot or on two wheels, Hamza’s journey is far from over — and the road ahead looks promising.
