Lahore, (PR) : Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan visited the Ashura mourning processions in Rawalpindi, Talagang, Jund, Attock and Islamabad on the occasion of 10th Muharram-ul-Haram. He reviewed the security arrangements of the Ashura processions.
Talking to the media on this occasion, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that Ashura is a day to pay tribute to the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS). He said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) gave global message of truth, patience and sacrifice. The Punjab Governor emphasized that the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain is cornerstone of Ialam’s survival, inspiring generations to uphold the faith’s core values and stand against injustice. He said that love for the Ahl-e- bayt is a part of every Muslim’s faith. The Punjab Governor said that we must follow the path of Imam Hussain (AS), upholding the values of truth and justice. He commended the administration for making fool proof arrangement on the occasion of Ashura . He said that the services of volunteers along with government institutions were also commendable. The Punjab Governor further said that all stakeholders including the Peace Committee and scholars played a positive role in maintaining law and order during Ashura.
