Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) : A spiritually uplifting “Mehfil-e-Musalma” was organized on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Adabi Baithak, under the auspices of the Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi, in honor of the sanctity of Muharram-ul-Haram. The purpose of this gathering was to commemorate the tragedy of Karbala, pay tribute to the great sacrifices of the martyrs, and introduce the younger generation to the teachings of the Ahl-e-Bayt (peace be upon them).
Renowned poets paid poetic tributes in their unique styles to the immense sacrifices made by the grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Imam Hussain (A.S.), and his companions for the sake of truth and the dignity of religion. The session was presided over by the esteemed literary figure Mr. Manzar Naqvi, while the special guests included the well-known broadcaster Mr. Momin Khan Momin, along with a large number of prominent writers, poets, intellectuals, and lovers of literature from the city.
The Director of the Arts Council, Mr. Muhammad Shakoor, thanked all the honorable guests and remarked that the incident of Karbala teaches us patience, perseverance, and the spirit of selflessness. He emphasized the importance of educating the youth about Islamic history and the noble example set by the Prophet’s grandson and his companions, who stood firm for the truth with unmatched sacrifice.
The program also included reverent recitations of Durood and Salam. At the conclusion of the gathering, Langar and Niaz-e-Hussain were distributed among the attendees. Additionally, a traditional Sabeel (refreshment station) was arranged. The proceedings of the event were graciously conducted by Nasir Ali Nasir.
