Dubai, ( PR) : President of Pakistan Peoples Party for Policies and Planning in the Gulf and Middle East, Malik Muhammad Ishaq, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the Swat River tragedy, stating that **despite the passage of several hours, the provincial government failed to rescue the stranded individuals.
He criticized the government by saying that funds and resources meant for public welfare were spent on protests and sit-ins, and now they shamelessly claim that “setting up tents is not our job.” Instead of suspending the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, should immediately resign. He further alleged that records of corruption are being set in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
These views were expressed during his media talk yesterday. He said that a deeply tragic incident occurred at the Swat River, which has saddened the entire nation. He remarked that while Swat is a hub of tourism, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, during its 12 years of rule, destroyed the region’s infrastructure. No proper rescue system has been established that could effectively respond to emergencies. Despite the passing of several hours, stranded individuals remained without help.
He questioned why the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s helicopter, which was illegally used by the PTI founder and now used by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for personal travel across the province, was not deployed for the rescue operations.
Malik Muhammad Ishaq offered heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, stating, “In this hour of grief and sorrow, we stand with the affected families.” He prayed for the forgiveness and elevation of ranks for the deceased, and patience and strength for the bereaved families. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue raising his voice for the protection of human lives and for addressing the challenges arising from natural disasters.
