Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : The 26th & 27th meetings of the Regional Coordination Committee (RCC) of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Azad Jammu & Kashmir were successfully held, bringing together key stakeholders to review progress, share performance updates, and strengthen interdepartmental collaboration. The twin sessions, held in Muzaffarabad, were chaired by Director General BISP AJK, Dr. Abdul Aziz Qurashi and witnessed the active participation of Humoyon Khan, Deputy Secretary Education (Schools) AJK, Saba Qamar, Deputy Director Education Colleges (Female), senior officials from partner organization, BISP officials, and other field-level stakeholders..

Participants from education and NCHD presented insightful progress updates, highlighting their collaborative activities with BISP — from school enrollment drives and awareness campaigns to Benazir Taleemi Wazaif support programs and Benazir Kafaalat initiatives. The discussions were marked by a strong sense of ownership and mutual appreciation of inter-agency coordination. Particularly attention was given to improving access to education for BISP beneficiaries’ children under the Benazir Waseela-e-Taleem initiative, addressing bottlenecks in service delivery, and proposing innovative solutions to improve the outreach and efficiency of BISP’s social safety net.

During the sessions, multiple stakeholders shared detailed reports on their activities, achievements, and challenges in supporting the mission of BISP. Discussions revolved around enhancing educational outreach, improving targeting mechanisms for beneficiaries, and expanding support services for women and children from the most marginalized communities.

Delivering their concluding remarks, Director General BISP AJK, Dr. Abdul Aziz Qurashi lauded the efforts of all stakeholders for their steadfast dedication and underscored the urgency of bridging socio-economic divides in the region.“BISP is not just a welfare program — it is a lifeline for the voiceless, the overlooked, and the underprivileged,” said the Director General. “Our mission is to ensure that no deserving family is left behind, and this vision can only be realized through unified action
