Jeddah : A grand ceremony was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to mark the birthday of Pakistan’s first female Prime Minister and the martyred leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. The event was attended by a large number of PPP officials, workers, prominent political leaders from various parties, and notable social figures.
The ceremony was presided over by Chaudhry Tasawar Hussain, President of PPP Saudi Arabia. In his welcome address, he paid rich tribute to Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s democratic legacy, her struggle for women’s rights, and her sacrifices for the supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law. He stated that Shaheed Benazir’s ideology lives on and she will always remain in our hearts.
Speakers at the event included Chaudhry Akram, Chairman of PML-N Saudi Arabia; Sardar Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, President of Muslim Conference; Aftab Ahmed Turabi; and others. They all highlighted Benazir Bhutto’s political foresight, her national services, and her relentless fight for democracy, paying her glowing tributes.
Among other distinguished attendees were former Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhry Azhar Warraich, former Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Overseas Community and senior PPP AJK leader Sardar Waqas Inayat, and Chaudhry Waheed Ahmed.
The event concluded with special prayers for the soul of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and a ceremonial cake-cutting to celebrate her birthday.
