    Oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected executive body of ILISAA Federal Chapter holds in Islamabad

    Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : The oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected executive body of the Islamians Library & Information Sciences Alumni Association (ILISAA) Federal Chapter was held on June 20, 2025, at the prestigious National Library of Pakistan in Islamabad.
    The ceremony was honored by the presence of Air Marshal Javaid Ahmed, President of the Center for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), who administered the oath to the new office bearers.
    The newly elected executive body comprises Khurram Shahzad (President), Nasir Khan Abbasi (Secretary-General), Zahoor Ahmad (Finance Secretary), and Kashif Kamal (Information Secretary). The event was further dignified by the attendance of respected professionals including Mr. Rana Yasir Arafat, Director General, National Library of Pakistan; Mr. Muhammad Arshad, Director General, Department of Libraries; and Mr. Kazim Ali Syed, Director of Student Affairs, Allama Iqbal Open University, who graced the occasion as guests of honor.
    The program was skillfully conducted by Mr. Muhammad Jawwad, who served as the stage secretary. As part of the program, enlightening presentations were delivered. Mr. Kazim Ali Syed shared “ILISAA at a Glance: Journey, Vision, and Way Forward”, emphasizing the role of alumni associations in professional growth. Mr. Muhammad Arshad presented “Reflecting on the Last Tenure: ILISAA’s Growth, Gaps & Goals Ahead”, highlighting progress and future directions. Khurram Shahzad, President of ILISAA, unveiled the Strategic Plan of Action (2025–2027), focusing on six key areas: revival of the Pakistan Library Association (PLA), training workshops, career counseling for students, increasing membership, promoting international collaboration, and fundraising for sustainability.
    The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Nasir Khan Abbasi, Secretary General ILISAA. He expressed deep gratitude to all the dignitaries, guests, alumni, and participants for their presence and support. He especially thanked the management of the National Library of Pakistan for hosting the event, particularly acknowledging the cooperation and facilitation extended by Director General Mr. Rana Yasir Arafat, Assistant Director Mr. Zahid Khan, Librarian Mr. Abdul Rahim, and Junior Librarian Hafiz Abdullah. Their support was instrumental in the smooth and successful execution of the ceremony.
