Lahore, (Parliament Times) : Reward money announced by the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will be distributed among more than one lac workers of the Suthra Punjab Program for their excellent performance during the grand operation on Eid-ul-Azha tomorrow (June 21). In this regard, a ceremony will be held at the tehsil level across Punjab in which the workers will be invited. This decision was taken during a meeting held at the Civil Secretariat. Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafiq presided over the meeting via video link. Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian, Special Secretary Asia Gul, Additional Secretary Ahmer Kaifi, Deputy Commissioners and Chief Officers of Municipal Bodies were also present.
Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafiq said that instead of calling all the workers on the same day, if necessary, the reward money can be distributed among the remaining people on the next day (June 22). He said that the Chief Minister had announced on the excellent performance in the Eid Grand Cleaning Operation that more than one lac workers who worked with hard work and commitment during the hot weather on the Eid days would be given a reward of Rs 10,000 each. The Local Government Minister said that due to the workers hard work during the scorching sun, exemplary cleanliness was seen on Eid-ul-Azha. “Our greetings to those who worked to remove garbage and other waste for three consecutive days. This honor is a clear recognition of the hard work of the workers by the Punjab government”, he remarked.
The provincial minister directed to invite elected representatives to the ceremonies observing that public representatives also played a full role in the awareness campaign during grand operation.
On this occasion, Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian told the deputy commissioners that necessary instructions issued for the ceremonies should be implemented in letter and spirit. He said that bank drafts will be given to the workers in a transparent manner. “No worker of the Clean Punjab Program should be deprived of the prize money”, he directed.
