MIRPUR ( AJK)(Parliament Times): Commissioner Mirpur Division Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain, while taking notice of various concerns and apprehensions raised by the public on social media regarding the recently – launched private-sector reported City Housing Scheme in Mirpur, Azad Jammu Kashmir, has directed the Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Yasir Riaz Chaudhry to immediately implement the already-declared steps to improve the situation regarding the phased City Housing project, it was officially said.
” In light of the letter written to WAPDA earlier regarding the damage to the houses located on the banks of the Mangla dam reservoir in Kakara Town due to the Mangla Dam Raising Project, local population had expressed dissatisfaction and apprehension about the housing scheme due to the instability of the land proposed for the City Housing Scheme in Kakara Town, citing the instability of the land for construction of the residential and commercial buildings, which was essential to be remedied, he directed, a Mirpur Divisional Administrations official statement issued on Friday said.
The Div. Commissioner Mukhtar Hussain further strongly advised that the geological survey and soil testing of the proposed land for the housing scheme should be completed within a maximum of one month through impartial experts and advertised for public awareness and satisfaction.
“The details of the plots in the City Housing scheme should be released according to the plot numbers to the extent that the City Housing Society has been allowed to sell plots, and the company should be made bound to sell only those plot numbers for which they have been allowed”, the Commissioner declared.
“In case of unauthorized plot sale, the no objection certificate issued to the company will be cancelable and the action taken by the company will be deemed illegal”, the Commissioner declared.
The Divisional Commissioner further ordered that the company would be allowed to receive a maximum token money of Rs. 100,000 as a booking amount, before the development works in Phase 1 of the housing scheme was completed at least by 80 percent. “The company will be prohibited to receive more than the above stipulated amount, which will be implemented in letter and spirit”, he underlined
” The City Housing Scheme shall be bound to complete all development works and provide possession to all allottees within one year from the date of booking of the plots”, he ordered.
The Divisional Commissioner further directed that Mirpur Development Authority should be given the responsibility of monitoring the quality and quantity of work executed in the City Housing Scheme and the authority should be made bound to ensure that a weekly report was provided on the progress made on the spot in the project area.
