Islamabad, (Parliament Times): The President Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has urged the Kashmiri expatriate community to sensitize international community about the early and amicable settlement of Kashmir dispute to bring an immediate end to the sufferings the Kashmiri people have been enduring since several decades.
These views were expressed by the President in a detailed meeting with President Kashmir Peace Forum International Europe Zahid Hashmi who called on him here today.
Referring to the US President Donald Trump’s mediation offer, Barrister Chudhary said that it was imperative that stakeholders to the dispute must take advantage of this offer and get the long running dispute resolved peacefully. The president also emphasized on associating Kashmiri leadership in the dialogue process to bring about a lasting solution to the Kashmir issue. He reiterated that the key to peace in South Asia lies in the resolution of the Kashmir issue.
The president also denounced the continued bloodshed and violence in Kashmir saying that human rights violations have intensified in the held territory following the Indian government’s controversial decision to abrogate Articles 370 and 35A.The contentious decision, he said, was taken to pave the way for demographic change in occupied Kashmir. Under the given situation, Kashmiris living all over the world should unite and raise their voice in support of Kashmiris’ right to self determination guaranteed to them under multiple UN resolutions.
On this occasion, the president Kashmir Peace Forum International Europe Zahid Hashmi extended an invitation to the President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry to visit France, which he delightfully accepted.
