Paris, (PR) : Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Forum France, strongly condemned Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar for accusing Pakistan of terrorism and threatening a new attack. He said Jaishankar’s remarks were a deliberate attempt to divert global attention from the Kashmir issue
Commenting on the minister’s interview, he said India’s recent aggression and threats towards Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are a blatant violation of international law.The real issue is not terrorism but the ongoing human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the decades-old unresolved Kashmir dispute. Regarding India’s accusations of terrorism against Pakistan, he stated:
India is repeating its old baseless narrative. The real terrorism is being carried out by the Indian state against innocent Kashmiris. India refuses to grant the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination.He emphasized
Kashmir is not a bilateral or regional matter—it is an internationally recognized dispute. The world must remember that India had promised the right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir, a promise it has never fulfilled. There are UN Security Council resolutions backing this right. He urged the international community to pressure India to honor its commitment to the Kashmiri people and respect their fundamental rights. In occupied Kashmir, political leaders and activists have been arbitrarily detained or imprisoned. Human rights defenders and journalists face severe restrictions, with many behind bars.Extra judicial killings and daily brutalities by Indian forces have become routine. He added India is lying about the situation in Kashmir. If international bodies truly want to know the reality, they should send fact-finding missions to occupied Kashmir. Human rights organizations and global media must be granted unconditional access to the region.Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar reaffirmed The Kashmiri people’s stance is rooted in truth and justice. Their struggle will succeed, God willing.Regarding India’s renewed war threats,He (quoted within the statement) warned India must refrain from provoking a new war. If another conflict erupts, its consequences will be extremely dangerous.
