MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) : Seasoned Independent analyst Hameed Shaheen Alvi, Chief of 21st Century Media Pulse (21st CMP), has cautioned that the continuance of current Israel-Iran war shall not have Middle East region restricted fallout.
“It shall embrace the whole world by its disastrous economic outcome, he added, citing that once the most vital Strait of Hormuz is closed oil prices shall shoot to sky high level. Therefore it is of utmost importance for all developed, developing countries to use their diplomatic energies to have a halt in this highest consequences war, he suggested”, Alvi, also a former Secretary Information of AJK Government said while talking informally to this Correspondent here Friday afternoon.
Mr Alvi said that the Strait of Hormuz,90 nautical miles (167km) long with varying width of about 52 nautical miles (96 km) to 21 nautical miles (39km) is an artery of international commerce. It provides the only sea passage from the Persian Gulf to the open ocean, is world’s most strategically important “choke point”, he added.
To a question he said that for some past international erosion of the efficacy of the United Nations Organization has given rise to warring disputes. International arrogants, he pointed out, do not respect the rulings, recommendations of this world organization. This has set a dangerous trend but no result-oriented action has been taken by the international community. This has emboldened the aggressors.
To another question he replied that Iran has the defense right to act against aggression committed by Israel. The Israel-Iran war has broadened the region of conflict in the Middle East with old disputes unresolved and new ones have emerged. The UN should deploy a peace force in this highly volatile region of the world to protect peace and security, he suggested.
