DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A departmental promotion committee meeting was held under the supervision of DIG Dera Range Sayed Ashfaq Anwar to review and approve the promotion of police officers from various districts of the Dera Ismail Khan region on Wednesday. The committee approved the promotion of 22 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) to the rank of Sub-Inspector, and 27 inter-qualified Head Constables were promoted to ASI positions.
Additionally, two Sub-Inspectors, five probationary ASIs, and eight ranker ASIs were confirmed in their current positions.
The meeting was attended by District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan Sajad Ahmed Sahibzada, DPO Tank Aslam Nawaz, DPO Upper South Waziristan Arshad Khan, DPO Lower South Waziristan Khan Khail, SP Special Branch Shabbir Hussain, and DSP Legal Muhammad Imran Kundi as committee members.
The committee reviewed promotion cases of 200 police officers from Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Upper South Waziristan, and Lower South Waziristan, based on seniority lists and performance records. After careful evaluation, the eligible officers were granted promotions or confirmations accordingly.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Syed Ashfaq Anwar congratulated the promoted officers and highlighted the increased responsibilities that come with advancement in rank. He stated:
“Your conduct reflects the dignity of the police department and the public’s trust. Carry out your duties with honesty, dedication, and a spirit of public service so that the image of the police continues to improve and the public holds you in high regard.”
The promotions approved during the meeting serve as a significant morale boost for the officers and reinforce the principles of transparency and merit within the police department. This step marks a positive move towards institutional strengthening and enhancing the quality of public service in the region.
