Rawalakot, (Parliament Times) : Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam visited Rawalakot where he was given a detailed briefing by Commissioner Poonch Division Masood-ur-Rehman on the situation created on the Line of Control as a result of Indian aggression and the losses there at the Commissioner Office Rawalakot, along with Deputy Inspector General of Police Region Sardar Zaheer Ahmed, Brigade Commander 2A Brigadier Arshad, Chairman District Council Poonch Sardar Javed Sharif, Mayor Rawalakot Sardar Abdul Naeem, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Sardar Umar Farooq, Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch Muhammad Riaz Mughal.
Commissioner Poonch informed in the briefing that nine people have been martyred in Poonch division due to shelling by the Indian army while fifty-seven people are injured. They have been distributed immediate relief checks by the Azad Kashmir government. He further informed how the Pakistan Army, civil administration and the people together fought this Indian aggression with courage and bravery.
Speaking on the occasion,
Federal Minister Amir Muqam paid tribute to the Pakistani armed forces for their befitting response to the Indian aggression on the Line of Control and praised the civil administration for standing with its people in this difficult time, which is commendable. He said that “the people living on the LoC are the protectors of Pakistan and the 240 million people. The spirit of the people living there is like that of the soldiers, they are also at the forefront of defending the homeland.”
Engineer Amir Muqam said that in the current situation, the government of Pakistan will not leave the victims alone, financial assistance will be provided to the families of the martyrs and the injured, and the loss of their properties will also be redressed. He said that on the special instructions of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, he himself has come to review the situation so that the message can be given to the affected people that the entire Pakistani nation is with them.
The Federal Minister said, “Modi’s arrogance has been crushed, we have emerged as a new and united nation. The enemy has had to eat, while the confidence and courage of our friendly countries have increased.”
Finally, a special prayer was also offered for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and the security of the country.
On this occasion, former government minister and leader of the Muslim League (N) Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Naqi Khan, former ministers Sardar Tahir Anwar, Iftikhar Gilani, member of the Kashmir Council Sardar Adnan Sayyab, Muslim League (N) leader Sardar Ijaz Yousuf, Muslim League (N) leader Raja Fateh Muhammad Kayani and other important personalities were also present. Later, he visited Sheikh Zaid Hospital Rawalakot, visited the civilians injured in the Indian shelling and also spoke to the media.
