Lahore, (PR) : Punjab Finance Minister, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman, attended a prestigious reception and dinner held in Hong Kong to commemorate Pakistan Day. The event was hosted by the Consulate General of Pakistan in Hong Kong, and the Minister’s participation came at the special invitation of the Consul General. The gathering brought together high-ranking Hong Kong officials, diplomats, prominent business leaders, and members of the Pakistani community.
The Finance Minister was warmly received by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Mr. Khalil Hashmi, along with the Consul General of Pakistan in Hong Kong. During the evening, senior Hong Kong ministers expressed their appreciation for Punjab’s ongoing economic reforms, improved business environment, and the governance model of the Pakistan Muslim League (N). They conveyed their interest in expanding bilateral economic cooperation, particularly with the province of Punjab.
In his address, Mian Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman underscored the Punjab Government’s commitment to transparency, inclusive development, and public service under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He highlighted that Punjab is paving the way toward economic self-reliance through pro-business policies, infrastructure modernization, and strategic investment in human capital.
He further emphasized Pakistan’s resolve to deepen economic engagement, attract foreign investment, and expand trade partnerships in today’s interconnected world, stating that Punjab stands as a model of this forward-looking vision.
