ATTOCK: The District Food Authority ATTOCK led by Additional Director General foiled an attempt of selling poisonous ice cream during a surprise check near Hassanabdal on Tuesday. The spokesman told media saying that on a tip off the food experts of District Food Authority ATTOCK headed by Additional Director General Mr Asif Dogar has conducted raid on the unhygienic conditions of three ice cream production units of a branded firm and a bakery. The raiding team also seized 300 kg ice lollies and 300 kg frozen ice cream from the freezers and sealed the spots. The seized items were destroyed besides imposing fine of Rs 650000. They were also imposed fine of Rs 50000 on the charges of unhygienic environment and fungus on the walls of the manufacturing area. They were also using spurious and poisonous sugar in the production of ice cream which was going to be marketed in district and it’s around.The spokesman further said that people having any complaint may contact on help line number 1223.
