    Introduction:
Participating in the 61st International Agricultural Exhibition (Salon International de l’Agriculture – SIA) held in Paris, France, was a remarkable experience. This exhibition was not just a global gathering of the agricultural industry, but also a platform that showcased modern scientific techniques, traditional farming methods, and cultural harmony. Attending this exhibition provided a new perspective on global cooperation, development, and its impact on agriculture.
Significance of the International Agricultural Exhibition:
SIA is considered one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in the world, which began in 1964. Every year, millions of farmers, agricultural experts, industry professionals, students, and general public attend this exhibition. The 61st edition in 2025 attracted participants from over 25 countries, showcasing agricultural products, livestock, and modern scientific demonstrations. The theme for this year focused on “Agricultural Sovereignty and Sustainability,” which is one of the most crucial needs in today’s world.
    An Unmatched Experience:
For me, this experience was unparalleled. On one side, modern technology-equipped machinery, agricultural research centers, and new crop varieties expanded my knowledge, while on the other, traditional rural culture, village-inspired stalls, and the presence of live animals touched my heart. Among all the exhibits, the most captivating display was “Opet,” a beautiful Limousin breed cow, which was chosen as the official mascot of this year’s exhibition. Opet, with her fourth calf, symbolized motherhood, patience, and rural dignity.
    Tasting Agricultural Products and Learning:
I had the opportunity to taste French cheeses, honey, meat, and other agricultural products. I exchanged ideas with farmers from various countries and witnessed cutting-edge scientific research demonstrations. The agricultural competitions, educational sessions, and informational workshops introduced me to new directions in global agriculture.
Agricultural Cooperation Between Pakistan and France:
This exhibition highlighted the vast potential for agricultural cooperation between Pakistan and France. In February 2025, a meeting between Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, and the French Ambassador, Nicolas Gaille, took place, where they agreed to enhance agricultural trade. By this time, agricultural trade between the two countries had reached a volume of 39 million dollars. Discussions focused on increasing exports from Pakistan, including rice, mangoes, spices, sesame, corn, and organic products, while also exploring the possibility of importing French seed potatoes.
A Dream for Pakistan’s Agricultural Development:
As I left the exhibition, a new dream was born in my heart: a Pakistan where farmers not only work the land but also proudly say, “I am a farmer!” I believe that “This was not just an exhibition, but a grand festival of life on earth. At every step, I felt knowledge, passion, and pride.” This journey signifies how international cooperation and knowledge exchange can help modernize local agriculture.
The Memorial Ceremony and Human Sacrifices:
Attending the French Navy ceremony was an emotional and significant moment for me. Here, where tribute was paid to the martyrs of World War II, I felt the depth of sacrifice made by those who gave their lives for the freedom and peace of the world. This ceremony reminded me that the effects of war do not remain confined to one generation, but echo across future generations. It was a moment to remember the horrors of war and the sacrifices made, so we can work towards global peace and tranquility.
    Conclusion:
Attending the 61st International Agricultural Exhibition was an unforgettable experience that allowed me to closely observe global agricultural cooperation, modern scientific advancements, and cultural harmony. The exhibition illuminated the potential for further agricultural collaboration between Pakistan and France, and it serves as evidence that new pathways for agricultural development can be discovered on a global scale.
