Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader and Chairman of the Jammu Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) Altaf Ahmed Bhat, vehemently condemns the recent terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express in Balochistan, terming it a barbaric act against innocent civilians.
On March 11, 2025, militants targeted the Jaffar Express, carrying 440 passengers, by blowing up the railroad track, halting the train in a remote area of Bolan. The attackers took passengers hostage, including women and children, using them as human shields. Tragically, 21 passengers lost their lives due to this heinous act.
Chairman Bhat extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and prays for the swift recovery of the injured. He emphasizes that such acts of terror are cowardly attempts to destabilize the nation and spread fear among its citizens.
In the face of this adversity, Chairman Bhat commends the Pakistan Armed Forces for their prompt and decisive action. The coordinated efforts of the army, air force, Frontier Corps, and Special Services Group led to the successful neutralization of all 33 terrorists involved in the attack and the safe rescue of the remaining hostages.
He highlights that the militants were in contact with their handlers in Afghanistan during the operation, underscoring the complex nature of the threat. Despite these challenges, the professionalism and bravery displayed by the armed forces ensured the operation’s success.
