MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) : Government is determined to raise the rate of literacy in Azad Jammu Kashmir through delivery of quality education harmonious to the need of modern age in the region.
This was stated by the Commissioner Mirpur Division Chaudhry Mukhtar Hussain while addressing the opening ceremony of Government Girls Primary School in New Mirpur City, meant for Mangla Dam affectees in outskirt of the existing township here on Friday.
He said that education was a precious jewel and the establishment of a school in New City was a step towards a great milestone for the promotion of quality education in the state.
There was no basic educational institution in Sector D of the New City.
The Commissioner said that the efforts and dedication made by the District Education Officer Women for the promotion of education in the district Mirpur were commendable.
The District Education Officer Farrukh Owais Chaudhry while addressing the ceremony, said that from the day she took charge of the district Mirpur Education Department, she had vowed to play an active result orientated role in making the district Mirpur an ideal district in the field of quality education in the local public sector schools.
The local population, on this occasion lauded AJK government for meeting their long cherished demand establishing girls school in the are. Councilor Chaudhry Tahir Mehrban Advocate thanked the Commissioner Mirpur and District Education Officer Women for their support and guidance to provide a quality educational institution in the area.
