Rawalakot, (Parliament Times) : Commissioner Poonch Division Masood-ur-Rehman and Deputy Inspector General of Police Region Poonch Sardar Zaheer Ahmed Khan assumed charge of their respective posts yesterday. After assuming charge, they were given a ceremonial salute by a police contingent in the premises of the District Complex and public circles, journalists, political and social figures congratulated them on their transfer in Poonch Division. Later, both the divisional officers went to Akhor Ban Hajira where they visited the grave of Shaheed Abdul Rauf ASI, laid flowers and offered Fateha. After that, they also went to the house of the martyr and met his family, relatives and dignitaries including children. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Syed Mumtaz Kazmi and SP Poonch Khurram Iqbal were also with them. The officers said that Shaheed Abdul Rauf ASI sacrificed his life for the protection of the lives and property of the people. One accused has been arrested. The remaining arrestable accused should be arrested soon and brought to justice. Ga SSP Poonch Rawalakot was instructed to immediately arrest the accused and also prayed for the high status of the martyr.President Central union of journalists district Poonch Syed Masood Gardezi & Renowned political and social figure Sardar Tauseef Aziz has welcomed both officers on their transfer to Rawalakot.
