Paris, (PR) : Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Forum France, Member of the Central Executive Committee of PML-N, and former Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir for Europe, Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar, has expressed strong anger over the obscene fashion show held at the famous tourist spot Gulmarg in occupied Jammu and Kashmir during the holy month of Ramadan. In his issued statement of condemnation, Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar said that it is extremely regrettable that an obscene fashion show was held in Gulmarg during the sacred month of Ramadan. The pictures and videos of the event have gone viral on social media, causing widespread outrage among the public. He stated that the Hindutva-driven Modi government is setting new records of oppression daily against religious freedom, tolerance, and harmony in occupied Kashmir. He questioned how such shamelessness could be tolerated in the occupied Kashmir valley, known for its deep religious inclinations. Those involved should be held accountable immediately. He emphasized that obscenity under the guise of promoting tourism will never be tolerated in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He further said that after the abrogation of the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, the Modi government has intensified its campaign to paint the region with Hindutva colors and is determined to erase the distinct Muslim identity and Islamic character of the area. He said that knowingly allowing such a fashion show despite the fact that it would deeply hurt the sentiments of the proud Muslims of occupied Kashmir reflects the deliberate disrespect of Muslim values and religious sentiments by the Modi government. He termed the permission for holding the obscene fashion show as an act based on Muslim hatred. Such activities are unacceptable during the holy month of Ramadan.
