Jadda, (PR) : Khair un Nass Tanzeem Jada Jhelum marked International Women’s Day with a comprehensive awareness seminar, bringing together diverse stakeholders to address gender-based violence and promote women’s empowerment.
The event, held in Jadda, featured Madam Misbah Makhdoom Chaudhary, a prominent advocate, as the chief guest, alongside Madam Shahida Shah, Zaheer Abbas, in-charge of the Police Tahafuz Center Jhelum, and Umar Butt.
Madam Misbah Makhdoom Chaudhary delivered an insightful lecture, detailing the legal avenues available to women seeking assistance with gender-based violence and domestic issues. She emphasized the importance of women understanding their rights and accessing legal support.
The seminar also highlighted the broader efforts of Khair un Nass Tanzeem Jada Jhelum to empower women. Mr. Inam ul Haq, General Secretary of the organization, reiterated their commitment to supporting women across various fields. “We are here to support women in every field,” he stated, outlining the organization’s initiatives in providing startup business support and training for women.
Mr. Haq stressed the critical need for male engagement in the fight for gender equality. “For equality and addressing gender-based violence, we need to engage men and boys,” he emphasized. He called for a grassroots campaign to promote this message, starting in schools, colleges, and even within homes.
The seminar served as a powerful platform for raising awareness and fostering dialogue on women’s rights, demonstrating Khair un Nass Tanzeem Jada Jhelum’s dedication to creating a more equitable society.
